The Atelier

A luxury wedding planner in Italy and France, working the way a couture house works: slowly, precisely, and only for a few.

Elowen Hartley, founder and creative director of Maison Elowen
Elowen HartleyFounder & Creative Director

"A wedding should feel inevitable, as if it could only ever have happened here, in this light, with these people."

Maison Elowen was founded in Florence in 2014 by Elowen Hartley, a former fashion-show producer who believed weddings deserved the same obsession with craft. Today our ateliers in Florence and Paris bring together planners, designers, a scenographer and an in-house stationery studio to compose celebrations that are entirely singular.

We do not sell packages. Every commission begins with a blank page, a long conversation and a trip to the place you have chosen. From there we build the whole world of your wedding: the architecture of the weekend, the tablescape, the typography on the menus, the way the music moves between rooms.

Services

Three ways to commission the house. Each one bespoke, each one led personally by Elowen.

I

Full Production

The complete commission. Venue sourcing across Europe, budget architecture, creative direction, every vendor contract, guest management, legal and logistics, and a full production team on site for the duration of the weekend.

II

Creative Direction & Design

For couples who already have a planner or venue team and want the house's eye. We develop the visual world of the wedding: concept, florals, scenography, lighting, tabletop, stationery and fashion styling, then direct its installation.

  • 6 to 10 months
  • Studio & scenographer
  • Install supervision

Weekend Experiences

Multi-day celebrations choreographed as one story: a welcome aperitivo in a lemon grove, a rehearsal dinner by boat, the wedding itself, a slow Sunday lunch. We design the rhythm of the whole weekend and the guest journey between each moment.

  • Guest concierge

The Process

  1. i

    Conversation

A long first call, then a meeting in Florence, Paris or wherever you are. We talk about you, not about weddings.

  2. ii

    Scouting

We travel together to see the places. The venue is chosen in person, in the right light, at the right time of day.

  3. iii

    Composition

The creative world of the wedding is drawn, sampled and refined: florals, scenography, menus, music, fashion.

  4. iv

    Production

Months of quiet, meticulous work: contracts, logistics, guest concierge, rehearsals, contingencies.

  5. v

    The weekend

Our team of twelve runs every hour. You are a guest at your own wedding.

Words

"Elowen built a world for us. Three days in Tuscany that felt like a film we had somehow always been in."

Isabella & Lorenzo — Florence

"The level of taste is beyond anything we found elsewhere. Every object on every table had a reason to be there."

Charlotte & Hugo — Provence

"We never saw a problem. I'm told there were several. That is the whole point."

Questions

How much does a luxury destination wedding in Europe cost?

Our productions begin at €150,000 for a single-day celebration and typically range from €250,000 to €1M+ for multi-day weekends. Our planning fee is quoted after the first consultation and is independent of your vendor budget.

How many weddings do you take per year?

We compose a maximum of twelve weddings a year so that the founder is personally present at every one.

Do you work outside Italy and France?

Yes. Our ateliers are in Florence and Paris, and we regularly produce weddings in Spain, Portugal, Greece and the United Kingdom.

When should we get in touch?

Ideally 14 to 18 months before your preferred date. Our calendar for the following year is usually complete by late spring.
